Pentillie Castle is nestled within a massive estate, by the River Tamar in Cornwall. Constructed in the 17th century, this structure went through renovations and restorations over the centuries, and the stunning Georgian mansion we see today is through the efforts of its residents, the Coryton family.

Pentillie Castle is surrounded by woodland that guests can stroll in, while inside the classically styled rooms offer amazing views across the river to Dartmoor.

Relax in the cozy drawing room with its own piano, enjoy the delicious English breakfast that uses ingredients sourced right from the estate, and take in the lush surroundings.

This castle hotel is the perfect English countryside escape, one you must experience when in England.

Looking to visit an older, more enchanted castle in Cornwall? The ruins of Tintagel Castle are only an hour’s drive from Pentillie. Both the surrounding landscape and the story of Tintagel, which hails from the Arthurian Age, are wonderful.

A castle hotel that’s full of character beginning with its unique shape, the Star Castle in Cornwall offers guests with quirky yet homey accommodations. The interiors have wood-beamed ceilings, crooked rooms, and staircases.

Although seemingly misshapen, each room is elegant and well-appointed. Star Castle also has garden rooms that have huge French windows that open into a lawn. There’s an indoor swimming pool a tennis court and a golf course.

With its elaborate ceilings,  huge fireplaces, mahogany staircases, mullion windows — stepping inside Bovey Castle is like being in a different century.

This baronial granite country house that we see now is a result of a multimillion-dollar renovation and restoration work and it shows. It is now among the most highly rated and best castles in England where guests can both relax and enjoy. The design of each well-appointed guest room may be contemporary, but cozy and homey.

In the massive grounds surrounding the castle, guests can enjoy golf or the heated pool, as well as unique activities like archery and falconry.

Beyond the castle grounds, guests can explore and find mystical stone circles, moorland frequented by horses and fascinating old villages.
